Watching Oprah today I realised something. i had started to check out from my darling daughters. The computer once again has started to take up my time. i need to get on the computer as I am a writer and I need to spend the time working but I am going to have to change my timetable again.
So here we go.
Saturday and Sunday after 7am no pc on. I can turn it on after 9pm. The days are for my family. now I just need to figure out what we will do.
TV is harder on wekends as K is an addict if it is of, it is almost guaranteed that he will walk in the door and turn it on. How to overcome this? i think I will turn on the music. i don’t mind music, th girls will dance to it and read and do other thins so music it is.
Monday and Tuesdays are fine. I have no one at home so if I wish to write all day it will be ok BUT the pc doesn’t get turned on till I get back from dropping the girls off and it wil go off in the afternoon before I pick them up. If Miss T or Miss N needs it for homework they will be limited to 1/2 hour each. Once everyone is in bed (including K) I can turn it on again.
That leaves Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I do need to write during this time as it is my job but I think I will just limit it to 1/2 hour spurts. Then I can spend 15 minutes on the house and 15 minutes each hour with the Miss L. I can’t go for bike rides yet with them as I need the trailer (I have no baby seat either). But maybe a walk around the block in the afternoon, some craft and games with them. It could be difficult due to the age difference (11, 8, 5, 3) in children. Any help there?
Miss T and Miss N love to help with tea so they will be allowed to help more and I will try and lose my perfectionist attitude. My girls are growing so quickly and I just don’t want to lose them.

The computer does swallow time doesn’t it -good luck with your new schedule. Maybe you could teach the girls to sew/knit/crochet then they can have their own projects on the go? Modelling clay is a good one to keep all ages busy too. Look up on the net (when you are allowed to!) making your own crayons from melting down old ones. Cooking is great – always let my kids ‘help’ when they were younger.
