Or is it?
I’m recycling using newspaper to make tubes to start my seedlings in but is it organic then?
I purchased some items to start Square Foot Gardening. I love the idea as I am basically lazy. The idea of not having of spend hours of weeding also works well for me. Dh is a qualified horticulturalist and shudders at what I am doing, it goes against every thing he has ever learned. I tell him to close his eyes and ignore it. He doesn’t have to touch it he can pretend it isn’t happening. If I’m lucky in a few weeks time my unorthodox ways will reward us with a beginners crop.
I haven’t gone all out and I have staggered the plantings a little. i am very lucky where I live most of the year is good for growing, the bad news is it’s also good for fruit fly. I am going to be sewing bags soon so that i can cover some of the crop and protect them.
But the staggered plantings I hope will allow me to supply veges for more of the year instead of all at once and also allow me to learn how to preserve food. that could be interesting. I am reading sites on preserving food so I hope to be able to learn this time round before undertaking larger attempts.
I have lovely chooks and I am going to try and clean their pen to utilise their droppings more. I am going to toss the shredded paper into the pens as well to help with compost. I have been thinking about a worm farm. the trouble with that is most of the scraps go to the chickens. I need to look into it more and see if paper and lawn clippings as well as a few other prunings is enough or will I need more.
Tomorrow I will buy some compost so I can start making my garden. I do have pictures of my first vege garden beginnings but they are very sad. LOL I may show you later AFTER I have planted in the garden

This is a good resource for worm farms…
