I have been really really busy. I made jewellery for a school fete and had a great sale. My camera wasn’t working but my friend has promised to email me the pictures she took.
On the day of the fete I als had a hallowen party to organise. That’s right a party. Now the fete finished at 4pm and the party started 6pm can you say panic?
Now I thought I was going to be clever. thursday go shopping, Friday prepare food for the party and final touches to the fete.
As it happened Thursday I headed down town to buy stuff and receive a phonecall from the local kindy. Miss C is sick can you pick her up? Ok I rethink my plan as I head out of the shop. I will do my shopping in the aternoon when the neighbour is home and can look after the girls. I am at the top of the stairs Miss L has my hand and I slip. I can’t even fall properly because Miss L is trying to stop me and at the size of most 1 year olds and weighing in at a massive 10kg she doesn’ stand a chance. but because she is holding on I fall awkwardly to prevent her being dragged down with me.
human bodies are amazing things, just ask any mother who has been faced with tripping over and landing on their babies it is incrdible the amount of twisting we can do. We will almost break every bone in our bodies before weland on our kids. Well one hand was still at the top of the steps when i hit the bottom.
I leapt up as 50 people suddenly rushed me all being very helpful when all I wanted to do was hide in embarrassment, my only saving grace was i was wearing shorts instead of a dress. Telling them all I was fine, tryingto calm Miss L who was panicking because everyone was at me and touching my stuff. "NO!" "Leave my mum alone" and "Go Away" featured prominently. i struggled to the car feeling mortified, thanking everyone profusely and eased into the car only to realise my butt hurt and my ankle was sore.
i don’t know about oversease but in Oz we use out right foot to brake and accelerate, of course this was the ankle I had hurt. By the time i picked up Miss C and got home was almost in tears from the pain.
The neighbour was a life saver though she got my shopping list and did the shopping for me, allowing me to rest it. I thought I may even get a bruise from it at least on my behind if no where else but obviously my iron levels are up at present because no bruise to prov the fall. Even my ankle which became very swollen by the following day wasn’t, couldn’t even tell. It is a good thing that i heal so quickly but sometimes it would be really nice to be able to show something and say see it really did happen and hurt.
Friday I was preparing. Saturday was great, the party went down well and my fiend too pictures of stuff once again.
Sunday I just wanted to sleep all day.
Ooh an update
here are the baby birds
aren’t they big now! They are eating pellets and trying to fly. Another week or two and they will leave home. I thought I was being let off the hook as the other birds are finishing their meds friday. But no didn’t work like that.
I checked the boxes and there was this tiny little baby. I called it Pita. So the two hourly feeds start all over again. the good news is we maybe able to sneak it into a nest if some others hatch AFTER friday, otherwise it will be another 6 weeks or so.

Glad you are ok – sounds like a nasty fall. Isn’t it frustrating when you have nothing to show for really hurting yourself. I don’t know about you but my other half then is a bit patronising as if i made it up…….
Those baby birds – I WANT ONE! Good job I live the other side of the world!

ahw Bronwen the babies have grown so well. Sorry to read about your fall and yes I know; sometimes one wants to show proof of the pain. Murphy’s Law I guess
Glad everything went well with the party and the fete. You’ve been quite busy.
